The agent of former Netherlands manager Guus Hiddink does not believe his client is in contention for the vacant England role.
Dutchman Hiddink, along with Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp, is among the candidates tipped to succeed Fabio Capello following the Italian s surprise resignation on Wednesday.
Hiddink has enjoyed considerable success in international management, first with his native country and then as coach of South Korea, Australia and Russia.
He is also available for work after leaving his post as Turkey manager in November.
But the 65-year-old s agent, Cees van Nieuwenhuizen, said he is yet to receive any expressions of interest.
It does not seem apparent, but that is my personal interpretation, Van Nieuwenhuizen told Voetbal International regarding the rumours linking Hiddink with England.
I have seen the reports on the internet this morning but I know nothing further.
I have no idea where this came from. It comes completely out of thin air.
I ve definitely not been approached.
Capello resigned following the FA s decision taken without consulting the Italian to remove John Terry as captain pending the centre-back s trial for racially abusing Queens Park Rangers player Anton Ferdinand.
Van Nieuwenhuizen expressed concern that his client s positive relationship with Terry the pair worked together during Hiddink s tenure as Chelsea caretaker in 2009 could be jeopardized were he to take the England job.
During his time at Chelsea, Guus always got on very well with John Terry a person who has much to do with the England team, he said.
It would be a strange situation for Guus to face in the future.
