United ready to listen to Lukaku offers

Manchester United are ready to listen to offers for Romelu Lukaku this summer, according to , and the striker himself is open to a move away from Old Trafford.

The upcoming transfer window will reportedly see the 20-time English champions go through an extensive overhaul of the squad and Lukaku may be one of those to make way, but only if a suitable offer comes in.

The Belgian international arrived to United from Everton in a £75 million deal in 2017 as the player to lead the line upfront for years to come. However, his performances have hardly justified such belief in his abilities, and when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho at the helm halfway through this season, he lost his regular place in the starting XI to Marcus Rashford.

Toure considering City exit

Yaya Toure could be set to leave Manchester City at the end of the season, .

The 31 year old arrived in England from Barcelona in 2010, and has since racked up over two hundred appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring sixty-one goals.

He was part of the squads that won the FA Cup in 2011, the Premier League in both 2012 and 2014 and the League Cup last season while he also tasted international success earlier this month with Ivory Coast’s victorious Africa Cup of Nations party.

Inter Milan, currently managed by former City boss Roberto Mancini could be set to make a move for the midfielder, though they will struggle to match his £200,000 per week salary not least as they once again look set to miss out on Champions League qualification.

The versatile Young was often deployed as a wing-back in Louis van Gaal s 3-5-2 system last term.

Hill backs Ramsey for QPR job

Stability is key for Clint Hill, whether QPR remain in the Premier League or not, with the defender eager for Chris Ramsey to lead the club forward.

Ramsey replaced Harry Redknapp in February but his appointment has not helped QPR, who are second bottom and seven points adrift of safety with just three matches remaining.

Relegation to the Championship beckons but 36-year-old Hill, who has been at QPR since 2010, endorsed Ramsey for the job, regardless if the club fails to avoid the drop.

It would be great to have some stability no matter what league we are in  I don t think we’ve had that in the past few years, Hill told the Daily Mirror.

We need to build for the future and learn from the mistakes we have made over the previous years. I think Chris h…

Klopp doubts Alexis Sanchez tug-of-war decided by money

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp doubts that Alexis Sanchez s reported decision to join Manchester United ahead of rivals Manchester City is being dictated by money.

Sanchez is seemingly on the verge of joining United from Arsenal in a swap deal involving Henrikh Mkhitaryan, despite initially looking certain to join City.

The Premier League leaders nearly signed him at the start of the season before Arsenal pulled the plug at the last minute, though reports continued to suggest they had been in talks to sign the forward, whose contract expires at the end of the season.

But United came in under the radar and met Arsenal s demands in the shape of Mkhitaryan, while the saga prompted some suggestions Sanchez has chosen United over City because of the money on offer.

´Boredom and pressure sets in´ – Redknapp diagnoses England´s tournament malaise

Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp believes boredom and unfamiliarity with long periods away from home contributes to England s problems at major tournaments.

England crashed out of Euro 2016 in the round of 16 in June, suffering a shock 2-1 loss to Iceland in Nice.

The national team have 10 points from four matches played in World Cup qualifying, but, should they reach the next finals in Russia in 2018, it remains to be seen if they can improve on some poor recent showings on the big stage.

One of the problems with England is we seem to underachieve when we go to tournaments, Redknapp said.

I don t know whether players are not used to being away and being stuck in a hotel and whether the boredom sets in and the pressure. They re sitting there thin…

CAF president Ahmad Ahmad has been detained by French authorities in Paris, FIFA confirmed on Thursday.

Madagascan administrator Ahmad, 59, was required to undergo questioning in relation to allegations related to his mandate as CAF president, a role he has held since March 2017.

Paul is going nowhere – Solskjaer rules out Pogba sale to Real Madrid in January

Paul Pogba will not be leaving Manchester United even if Real Madrid rekindle their interest when the transfer window reopens, says Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Pogba was reportedly a top target for Madrid and their French coach Zinedine Zidane prior to the new campaign, but they failed to land the World Cup winner.

Madrid have since made a stumbling start to the new campaign, while president Florentino Perez has hinted they could return for Pogba in January.

The midfielder, who had a difficult relationship with Solskjaer s predecessor as United boss Jose Mourinho, is currently sidelined by injury.

But Solskjaer reiterated Pogba s commitment to Old Trafford, even though the 26-year-old said after the end of the 2018-19 season he wanted a new challenge.
