Dos Santos stuck in Spurs limbo

Forgotten man Giovani dos Santos is eyeing the exit door after being continually overlooked at Tottenham Hotspur.

Dos Santos, 22, came through the famed La Masia youth academy at La Liga club Barcelona.

But the Mexican international failed to seal a regular place in the Catalan giants first team and joined Spurs in June 2008.

The attacking midfielder has also struggled to make an impression in north London, notching just 26 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham during his time at the club.

Speaking ahead of Mexico s friendly against Serbia on Friday, Dos Santos, who has been loaned out to Ipswich Town, Galatasaray and Racing Santander, hinted he would again seek a move away from White Hart Lane when the January transfer window opens.

As a player, you always want to play more, I have been at Tottenham for two-and-a-half years and I have not been given the playing time that I want, dos Santos said.

It is hard to say that I want to go, because I have a contract with the club, and I do not want to get much into that subject.

What I can say is that, although I have not been playing much, I have received plenty of offers, but I will have to wait for January.

After impressing on loan with Racing Santander last term, Dos Santos was expected to join Eredivisie club Ajax in the off-season, but the move failed to transpire.

I went to Racing Santander and I was playing well there, he said.

Then the Gold Cup (with Mexico) came and I was fine and they (Spurs) did not let me go (to Ajax).

I do not understand, but I have said all I had to say about this.
